About AnimalPassport

Pet Passport is an official document of Malaysian Government under Malaysian Animal Traceability System (MATs) Project. This Passport organised by Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia (DVS) under the Provision of Animal Act 1953.

The pilot project was launched on February 2010 at Veterinary Hospital, Department Of Veterinary Services in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. 42 owners, 63 animals (47 cats and 16 dogs) were register during the pilot project.

On the 18 until 19 May 2010 and 21 May 2010, briefing on Animal Identification (Pet Passport) were also done in DVS Selangor and DVS Johor. Soon, this Animal identification registration will be extended to the private veterinary clinics around Klang Valley area.

Objective

  1. To help in disease control
  2. To improve the animal traceability system
  3. To promote Pet ownership responsibility and  
  4. To promote awareness in animal welfare

Purpose

  1. To provide the formal animal identification system
  2. Build the database system to improve the effectiveness of animal disease control
  3. To promote pet ownership responsibility

Malaysian Animal Registrar

  1. All Veterinary Officer  in Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia
  2. Accredited Veterinary by Department of Veterinary Services Malaysia

This fee is not included microchip, physical examination and picture.

How to apply

This Animal Identification card can be applied at:

  1. Department Of Veterinary Services (All DVS state office)
  2. Veterinary Clinics that accredited as a Malaysia Animal Registrar.
